I'm so jealous :P I want to travel to Europe again, except this time to travel around, and not study. I really want to visit Germany. I have some family that had come to the states shortly after wwII. A lot of that heritage was lost though when they passed away. It's very nice to meet you Vlada, well sorta lol. Now were you born in Russia and then moved to the states?
I don’t know about that, there’s a lot I saw only because I was a student, it just depends on how you allocate your time and take down time to travel. For instance, I was only able to go to Norway and Denmark because they bordered my host country (Sweden), and got to see Estonia thanks to a student cruise. If nothing else, being a student in Europe has the maximum number of benefits because students get discounts on nearly EVERYTHING - bus and train passes have special student discounts, museums and attractions often have low rates just for students (or free admission at times).
Sounds awesome. But it's never too late to start another journey. :) What is Russia like? Also, what is your full name? I'm sorry I'm pestering you so much lol.
Depends on what part of Russia you’re in, the country is MASSIVE, it takes up 11 time zones! (maybe 9 now? Not sure). North Ossetia, the southern province I’m in currently, is very traditional but in an interesting way with a blend of Slavic, Ossetian, Middle Eastern, and Central Asian influences. It’s right up against the Caucasus mountains, which are MASSIVE, the largest peaks in Europe. Despite that, it’s actually a very mild climate and the winters are not ferociously cold like in the north, and quite warm in the summer.
My full name is Vlada, just most people can’t seem to pronounce it properly with the “V” so I just go by Lada. In Europe, when people asked me to repeat my name I said, “Lada, like the car.” They got it only half the time…guess it depended on what part of Europe they were from lol
You sound like an awesome person, still. :P I honestly can't remember the last video game I've bought. I've been trying to stay productive as well haha. Final Fantasy games are the way to go though! I've never been to a hot spring, but honestly relaxing in one with a beer does sound amazing. How were your travels? I also hope I'm not bugging you either Lol.
It really is quite amazing! My travels are nearing an end. I’m spending the next 3 weeks in RUssia, going for one day back to Stockholm to catch my flight to the States, one day in Chicago, then home!
Well don't we all become a bit funnier as we loosen up with alcohol? :P Well tell me about yourself. What are your hobbies aside from cosplaying and what do you do for fun? :)
I suppose following my Tumblr would just lead to a lot about my fandoms and cosplays…lol I love traveling, and got to fulfill a large yearning for it this year by visiting Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Denmark, Spain, Morocco, and Russia while studying abroad 3 hours from Stockholm in Karlstad, Sweden. It’s given me a fantastic opportunity to learn a little bit of Swedish, practice my Spanish in Andalusia (without being distracted by the silly Madrid accent lol), and refresh my native Russian language with relatives. I love reading a lot, and hope to get more time to do so now that my undergrad studies are complete; I’ll of course probably continue to do a lot of scholarly reading on my own time, especially regarding history or culture, my curiosity is truly endless. My dad got me into snowmobiling and we love to go out as a family with all the sleds either doing some easy trail riding or hitting fresh powder on the mountain side. Being from Montana, we love hot springs, so there’s nothing better I could dream of in winter than sitting in hot springs or a hot tub outside with a cold beer! Let’s see…I of course love cosplaying, but that crafting passion extends to a lot more simple things too like sewing dresses or winter accessories for me or family/friends, table covers and place-mats, or couch pillows. I used to be really big into video games, but in the last year or two I’ve cut down on them a lot due to school, work, and simply not finding the time to sit and play when I could be doing something more “productive” like sewing lol Now that I have my new 360 waiting for me at home, I think I’d like to pick up on series I haven’t touched in years as well as new releases like Dynasty Warriors, Final Fantasy, Catherine, and Mass Effect.
